The Sock Hop was founded in 2010. We hand make custom shirts with over 100 years experience in the art of tailoring. This is a family business through and through. With our father, we brothers cut and sew custom shirts in the back of the store. In addition, The Sock Hop sells socks, accessories, and hard goods from artisan craftsmen from around the world, pieces we truly believe in. Process cannot be separated from the final product. All goods are made with the finest materials, using quality control and a tailored approach. We believe in the timeless quality of craftsmanship. Come by and hang out, listen to vinyl.
Get in a Custom Shirt
Custom shirt making has been in our family for over 100 years. Our father learned the art of shirt making from his father, who learned it from his uncle. Ted and Luke are the tailors under our father today. All shirts are made in the back of the shop, right on Elizabeth St.
A custom shirt comes down to the fit. The details won't mean a thing if the shirt doesn't fit the way you like. We work with our customers to perfect the fit, and keep a pattern for you which will make every shirt down the line fit to your specifications.
We have hundreds of fabrics and swatches on hand. Select your collar, cuffs, front finishing, and fit. Any detail you can think of can be incorporated into your custom shirt to make it truly unique. We'll take your measurements, and take care of all the rest. Shirts typically take a week or two to make.
